We’re back…well we never really left, we just got lazy…and we’re kicking of the summer with some kinda loud noise. It is memorial day weekend. Summer, sun, friends, no work, and most importantly parties. Never mind your Sunday BBQ, we got your weekend right here. It all starts this Sat. May 29th. Last year I did the Sunday show at the Frog to a less than enthusiastic crowd, so this year we’re gonna mix it up a bit. Sat. night I’ll be rocking the DownTown in Warsaw. For those of you who haven’t been there it’s a magical ‘lil place right on center street across from the courthouse that’s filled with good times and better people, and on the 29th sick tunes. I’ve been playing there a little lately, the crowd is up for it and the room usually goes off. We’ll get started @ 10 pm. Get there early if you want to sit at all. But who would sit when you could be Pon”ing” de Floor. Dagger. And for those of you who can…well sort of…remember last year. That Sunday night after the Frog we had a massive “secret” not so secret house party. This year we’ve decided to scratch the whole, DJ at the Frog for two hours then rush back to play a set with Brett, plan and go with just one big house party…and you are invited. So that means gather your things, bring your drinks, and party all night long because you don’t gotta do shit on Monday except lay on the lake. We hope to see you all out and about.

So it happened I finally got myself a Facebook page. I know we have a CSGD fan page, but I got myself my own personal page. Now I had to use my real name, Brian Fanning, (sorry to disappoint anyone who thought it was actually Tanner) so add me so I don’t feel like such a loser. The irony of the whole thing is that I was like the 101st person to join my own facebook fan page, ha. If you haven’t joined the CharlieSays fan page you might as well do that while you’re at it. This picture is of my face, get it…Facebook, whilst on my recent trip to Paris. The cheese was fabulous and I painted some portraits of my hotel bathroom and lobby. I just finished up two mixtapes. One for DJ Tanner, and another for all you guys as a thank you for the support. It’s not technically the best thing I’ve done but there are some interesting parts in at and its all over the place genre wise. I was sure to include some tracks that went over well with you all this summer! But hey it’s all live and I mixed it naked after work tonight so there. I’ll be posting a free download link to that as soon as we get this problem with wordpress sorted out. One more thing…As Teddy said, this coming labor day Sunday should be pretty banging so get ready. We got plenty good shit to come.

A big thanks for a great Sat. night out last week. As it was already stated we all had a blast including myself. I just wanted to thank everyone who came out I got to see faces I hadn’t seen in years. Big up to Brett, Teddy, the staff and the whole csgd crew and friends for making it happen. The night went off. Thanks to Dustin for the acoustic guitar playing during the early hours. If you haven’t caught this Dustin, who runs some local open mic nights, has been coming in and playing for an hour or so before I go on. He drops sing along songs and gets the crowd nice and drunk then throws this badass into for me where he actually plays an acoustic guitar version of the full house theme song. It’s classic. Anyways if you missed Sat. you missed out. Lots of dancing and craziness. I especially liked the look on the security guard’s face, who was sent to move the crowd back from the dj booth, when two hot blondes were grinding all over him, or the I don’tknowwhatyoucallit dance circle when I dropped a IMXL remix of Ben Harpers Burn One Down out of nowhere. I could go into a more detail and give a play by play but who cares if you really want to know ask somebody, ha, but Scottie B’s remix of In Yo Face went off. Oh and there was not only people I haven’t seen but Birthday’s, you know who you are you old people. Anyways thanks again we’re doing something special for memorial day, I mean Labor Day. I tend to get the two confused. I’m booked at the frog but you know the Indiana Law says we have to shut down at midnight. Not to fear, come out say what’s up we’ll have a killer afterparty back at the pad from like after the frog ’til bout 7. There is no better way to have Monday off work and stay up all Sunday night going off. Also come out on Lake Wawasee Saturday the 5th of Sept. Chris, the Manager @ the Frog, is throwing a kick ass booze cruze on the Lillypad for only $25. Wow this thing is long…if you haven’t done it yet check out Brett’s Dubstep mix. He came over and woke my ass up to give it to me last week. Literally, came into my house while I was sleeping and woke me up. But it’s sick and I think it’s a good way to get people interested in Dubstep. The mix isn’t too long and he cuts a lot of songs and makes it easy to swallow, nicely done Brett. Here is the rundown of last weeks events. First off, That is a picture of the Frog on sat. the 27th! Yes it really is. All I have to say is thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for all the support, the crowd, the dancers, the staff, my family of friends and anyone who came out to make the night what it was. We had nothing but energy on thursday for H$’s T-Shirt Release party and it just carried over to a massive Saturday night out. A special shout needs to go to the staff for making it all happen, the girls Heather, Nicool, and Beth!, Teddy for the facebook love, Brett aka Steam’en for everything, my crew, and anyone who came out to have fun who made the night massive. If you want a T-Shirt there still a few left, I didn’t throw all of them on the dance floor…yet. If you send me an email I can try to get you one. It all wouldn’t have happened without any of you and I mean YOU. The friends that support me. Let’s look forward to making the next night twice as big because we brought the party back to the ‘cuse and we go HARD! Well It’s been a while…and contrary to popular belief, I’ve been busy. I just got back from Indy where I played sunday night. The kids seemed to eat it up especially the BMore stuff I played. I’m fairly sure its the first time they heard a dj beat them with club music for any extended period of time. There was this one guy who just jumped around for a good two hours straight and had to have water poured all over him at the end of the night, reminded me a little of the crazy dancer at the frog who split his head open. Speaking of all things the Frizz, I did a private party on the Lillypad sat. that went well, thanks to the family and the dancers for all the support. And more Frog related news as Teddy’s post states it’s going down hard the 27th. We need to make this BIG. I should be in top form hopefully getting some rest this week and not traveling so I can give it my all! Come out bring your friends lovers and parents and show some love. It all happens at the Frog on Sat. May 16th and we want this party to be BIG so come on at and show some support. DJ Tanner will be throwing down behind his boy OBC aka DJ Tanner Jr. On that note we all heard he held it DOWN last friday and started the party right. Ya Boooy B unannounced back to back nights Thursday and Friday. Anyone who was lucky enough to catch the after Beer Pong madness thursday night got some spontaneous ass shaking. Word to everyone who came out. Friday night picked up steam as the night went on and I got to say thanks to all those who have been supportive throughout the staff, the big Z night crew, the syracuse lot, and anyone who just wants to have a good time. We do it for you all!
So it’s come to my attention that people who go to school are now out of school for the summer. Kudos on being smarter then me, however i was thinking what a better way to spend your new found free time then to become a CharlieSays intern. Before I go on a rant…cause it might just happen…I want show some love for all those who came out last Sat. and supported us (whether they liked it or not, ha.) Big up to all the staff at the Frog, Chris (96 Dance Champ) Brandon Matt (word), the CSGD crew, Nicool and JaYson, the Zimmer crew (word up to the night shift ha.) my boy OBC for kicking it off, Heather AKA AreaCodesMeetsbBobbyBrown (anytime you want a song just holler cause you know how do do do it), Nate G, the rest of my crew and my boy Scott for keeping it real and turning down all the lame requests (I mean who wants the hear BuckCherry anyways, are you even listening to what I’m playing?) Shame on me for bringing in a different vibe then your usual and ridiculously untalented limewire DJ (ps I’m pretty sure thats illegal, support fresh music!) and your sing along played out annoying what ever that style is (tell me we didn’t throw down harder on sat.) So…just a few things. If you’ve had too much to drink by 11 and are coming to the booth to tell me how much I suck, which is a great way to get that slow jam you wanted played again, try not to spit all over my boy Brett when you talk. I had to clear the saliva off one of my decks that I’m pretty sure cost more then your ex husbands greengold wedding band. Don’t tell me that you are so much better then me because you work for a radio station owned by Federated Media the local white trash version or Clear Channel, by the way thanks for taking any originality out of radio, we all love the same 20 songs every hour on the hour. Know the correct name of the record you want to hear so I can tell you that I definitely don’t have that lame shit. PS Ram Jam only rocks barn parties in Kentucky where two relatives twenty years apart can still have unprotected sex in the hey loft.
